Established in 2003, PureWave Networks is a privately held company located in Mountain View, California. The company is backed by a number of leading Silicon Valley venture firms.
PureWave Networks is developing the PureWave Quantum Base Station product family of high performance, outdoor Mobile WiMAX Base Stations. These products deliver the coverage and capacity of a Macro Base Station, in a compact form factor.
This unique cost/size/performance combination results in a significantly lower CAPEX/OPEX, which makes PureWave Quantum Base Stations attractive to any type of operator, from large mobile service providers to small Wireless ISPs (WISPs), in rural, suburban and dense urban areas.
To achieve such extraordinary performance, PureWave Networks has developed the PureMax™ Smart Antenna technology. Self-calibrating, beamforming technology creates tightly focused, extended range radio beams, significantly improving uplink performance at a dramatically lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Another component of the value equation is the highly scalable nature and the telco-grade quality of the PureWave Quantum Base Stations. They’re designed to carry base-load network capacity and support more than 200 active, simultaneous subscribers per sector, which aligns with carrier initiatives to roll-out more services, to more customers, more cost-effectively.
Ease of deployment also separates the PureWave Quantum Base Stations from the rest. Patent pending and fully integrated, the PureWave Quantum Base Stations’ single box design can be deployed completely outdoors, without the need for high-priced shelter or air-conditioning.
PureWave Network’s fully open, 802.16e compliant, architecture prevents vendor lock-in and provides carriers with the freedom of choice. It allows customers to assemble a “best of breed” solution and to select other components from the broad WiMAX ecosystem.
