Proxim's new licensed backhaul products come packed with some exciting features including:

High Performance
The GX800 products provide 622 Mbps aggregate capacity out of the box (no licensing fees required to utilize the highest performance), which exceeds carrier’s requirements of 300 Mbps backhaul for 4G rollouts such as LTE and WiMAX.

Frequency Agility
The GX800 provides a wide range of frequency band support from 6-38 GHz, enabling a wide range of deployment options and protection of spectrum. And with configurable channel bandwidths from 7-56 MHz, the GX800 supports very high data rates.

Easy Deployment
The GX800 utilizes a split-mount architecture consisting of a compact indoor unit (IDU) and outdoor unit (ODU). The product has an extremely small footprint, with the ability to deploy two IDUs in a single 1U rack. It also features a free link design and optimization tool to optimize the planning and deployment of every link.

Ultra Reliable
Proxim’s GX800 utilizes a combination of advanced modulation techniques – including adaptive code modulation (ACM) with modulation rates of QPSK to 256 QAM – for exceptional link availability.

IP-Centric for Easy Migration
The GX800 features extensive Layer 3 protocol support including 802.1q VLAN and 802.1p QoS. The new products are also fully supported by the ProximVisionES network management software.

JOE'S TECH TIP
#5 MIMO Best Practices
When designing a broadband wireless system utilizing multiple co-located antennas (e.g. a MIMO system) it is best to use only Vertical and Horizontal Polarity alignment and to avoid using Slant (45°) Polarization. There is approximately 30 dBm of discrimination between Vertical and Horizontal, whereas there is only about 3 dBm when using a Slant (45-degree) polarity. Using the Slant polarity will result in “self-interference” when deployed adjacent to an existing signal using either Vertical or Horizontal polarity antennas. Co-locate Horizontal and Vertical antennas together for optimal results.
