Overview
The SonicWALL SonicPoint Access Point conforms to IEEE 802.11a/b/g standards, and provides secure mobility and wireless LAN connectivity to users on a network. It requires no pre-configuration, as it is centrally configured, managed, and updated by any SonicWALL network security appliance.
Within a large office building, network administrators can deploy a SonicWALL network security appliance as the gateway device, and then simply distribute SonicPoint at optimal locations throughout the building, allowing employees to seamlessly roam. This eliminates the need for a separate wireless appliance at the network perimeter, providing airtight wireless mobility for employees, as well as secures Internet access for guests.
With support for 64/128/152-bit WEP encryption, AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), the SonicPoint provides enhanced user authentication and network security.
